At Brocade one of our goals is to continually challenge ourselves, our partners, our customers, and our communities to explore and embrace a wide range of "green" initiatives. Today, we are focused on contributing to organizations and individuals who raise awareness of environmental issues.

As part of this goal, Brocade sponsors unique events and projects that generate a positive impact on the natural environment. Current sponsorships include:

Brocade and Roz Savage Team Up for the Environment

Brocade is delighted to report that in the early morning of September 1, 2008, Roz Savage rowed into Waikiki on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Roz’s arrival marks the successful first leg in her quest to become the first woman to row solo across the Pacific Ocean. After departing from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge on May 25, Roz rowed her boat “The Brocade” more than 2900 miles in 99 days.

In early 2009, Roz will depart from Hawaii and continue rowing for another 2600 miles to Tuvalu in the Southwest Pacific, followed by the final leg of her passage to Australia. If successful, she will have rowed 7200 miles over three years, and will be the first woman in history to have rowed solo across the world’s largest ocean.

While not all of us will row across the ocean to raise awareness about the impact of pollution on our seas, all of us can do something in our daily lives to make a difference, and that is Roz Savage's message.
